Winners of Sentences Feedback!
Hellooooo!
It’s been a hectic week over here. I’ve been running back and forth, finishing up client projects, and writing new articles (or at least trying to) and trying to develop some relationships with other people in the industry. With that said, I’m a little late on announcing the winners of the “Tell us what YOU think!” survey.
The response was great, almost 100% was positive. That’s very encouraging to hear from my readers. Furthermore, I’ve learned some valuable things about my readership, and what you guys like the most. It seems that it was a close race between Interviews and Articles, so I’ll try and get more of those to you guys soon. Surprisingly, “regular blog posts” scored well, meaning you guys want more personal stuff! Okay, so I’ll try my best to update as often as I can, even if it’s only a few (important) things I must say. I do have a personal blog though, so if your interested, check out The Last Ronin.
So, without further adieu, here are the winners picked randomly from those who left comments.
$5 CRAZY PAYPAL SHOPPING SPREE!!!! (lol):
- Taiyab Raja
- Andrew Yates
- Josh Buckley
- Neoraw
- Prateek Malhotra
AWESOME TEXT LINK AD MADNESS!:
Please note, the winners of the text link ads will run next week once the current campaigns finish.
- Tom Howell
- Aarom Fishbein
- Sahil
- Amaresh ray
- Andrew
Because I didn’t get enough responses on the survey (I got 23, but only 10 or 11 left comments), I’ll be rewarding pretty much everyone. Please contact me on Sentences to claim your prize. Please note that it must be the same email address that you left the comment with. I know it’s nothing special, but hopefully I can continue to keep handing some small prizes to the more loyal readerships. Surveys are a great way for me to learn about you guys, and to know what you want and expect out of Sentences, so I think each month I’ll be having a survey with similar prizes (and increasing them based on the readership).
Keep on Keepin’ On.
Regards,
Bryan

LAIDBACKWEBHOST.COM is available!
But anyways great post I like the brainstorm feature so far.
Great idea, I am particularly interested in the idea of ‘buddy of the month’, small and closely linked community is the key to success for this type of hosting service.
A very thought provoking article, I think the only host I can probably identify that has some of the characteristics you point out would be Eleven2.
This is a great idea. I would definitely sign up for a host who takes the time to know their customers.
Nice new feature btw. Can’t wait to see some more.
Great guide about web hosting,Thank you very much for the posting. This is going to be great with its step by step instructions which certainly makes good point.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful feedback and comments. I’m glad you all like the feature.
From my personal experience in the indurstry, I can only see one flaw with this. For it to really work with all the different types of content (some of which would be considered illegal in some countries), you would have to provide servers in various locations (off-shore datacenters for example).
Now, this would be a HUGE overhead for any small-medium web host, it would require management in many different areas aswell as maintenance and all the rest. This is almost certain to make it an expensive approach to what is certainly a very widespread market.
I love the idea, and I think the 3 key points are definitely:
- An awesome design (think the best featured on css galleries - young and bold)
- Great support as mentioned
- The blog (and viral marketing that arises from this)
I think the key would be providing something different (or something that seems different) with all of these 3 points. So that means a very original design, responding personally to blog comments, perhaps having a blog/forum style support area that is very friendly - this way visitors can see how much you care, and how friendly your staff are.
