No updates for a couple days.

Hi everyone,

I had a few posts scheduled for yesterday, today, and tomorrow, but I received word yesterday that a friend of mine passed in a car crash. Though Alex and I had grown up and apart since High School, we had shared a friendship full of memories through the latter part of High School. It’s unfortunate that someone so promising will never reach their potential because of unnecessary danger and negligence.

I will always remember the way that Alex lit up a room when she walked into it. How mysterious it was that when she walked through the door, all eyes were on her, and suddenly the party would just migrate around her. Not only because she was absolutely beautiful, but because she had a remarkable smile and a laugh that was contagious. She was always the life of the party. Even if you had only met Alex for less then 5 minutes, you would feel as if you’d known her for ages, and that you could count on her to make you smile anytime in the future. It’s very rare that you find people so full of life and enjoying everything life threw at them. But Alex was one of them.

It hasn’t sunk in yet. Never in a million years would I have thought this would happen to her because I knew she had a purpose on this Earth and that was to make life easier for everyone else by her singing, dancing, and laughing…and now that feeling is absent. God has taken that away from us. I will never quite understand why things have to be the way they are, but that’s the mysterious working ways of life. I guess I won’t really realize what’s happened until I finally attend the memorial tonight. I’ve never been interested in Wakes or Funerals because they are too…permanent for me. It’s really hard to write anything to make you guys understand what thousands of people are going through. Everyone is feeling the loss of Alex around here.

With respect to her memory, I have decided to postpone updating Sentences for the next few days. Hopefully by Friday everything will be back on track. I ask that you pray for her, her friends, and especially her family. If you’re interested in donating money to help pay for Funeral services and such, please contact me privately and we can discuss if that is a possibility.

Dear Alex,

Alex and her best friend...her Dad.It was that smile of yours that got me hooked. Damn it was contagious. When we first met, you just gave me that big smile of yours as you were introduced by our mutual friend, and you made me feel so comfortable around you. As if I had known you for years, and by the end of the night people couldn’t tell that we had only just met that night. That’s what you did. You made people feel better about themselves. I’ll never forget that.

I regret not being able to tell you what I thought of you. That you were one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met. It’s rare to find someone that looks as stunning with a personality as warm as yours. Someone so down to Earth. I guess everyone had their own little infatuation with Alex Hartner. I won’t forget celebrating New Years (was it 2005?) together with you over at Malcolm’s when all that drama broke out. And how you some how managed to remain neutral while all of your friends were fighting.

And now you are in the presence of God, watching over all of us with those incredible blue eyes, pearly white teeth, and that smile that would make anyone stop in their tracks and smile back, no matter what they were doing. You will never be forgotten. How you could smile and laugh so genuinely every time will always be a mystery to me. And why God would be selfish enough to take you away from us will be a question I will never stop asking.

Your friend for eternity,
Bryan
